Safety Boat updates

With many thanks to the Bosun, John Ward:

Both rescue boats have had a major engine overhaul at the end of 2023, so they now have a power increase due to the RIBs engine having a high pressure fuel filter unblocked and all of the fuel tanks on the Pioneer having the collapsed fuel lift tubes replaced.

So power boat drivers: Beware the boats now have full get up and go!

Early in 2024, the Pioneer tanks will be replaced with Honda tanks - so moving forward any Honda tank will fit either boat.

All tanks now also have self-venting vapour traps so you no longer need to worry about opening or shutting the breathers.

Safety kits have been inspected and are now complete.

Carabiner's have once again been replaced on the chain ropes due to someone removing them.

Steering wheel assist knobs are now fitted to both boats and these are not to be removed either in any circumstances. If you don't like them then let someone else helm!

Finally, if you find anything missing, broken or in need of maintenance please inform John Ward-  in person or leave a report on the book hanging up in the safety cupboard.
