Jack Chippendale boats

To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of renowned master boatbuilder Jack Chippendale, Fareham Sailing & Motor Boat Club is hosting a one day, three race handicap event and celebration on Saturday 11th May 2024, to honour Jacks life and work.

Renowned for building the finest racing dinghies, Jack and his company Chippendale Boats in Fareham were at the forefront of wooden boatbuilding in the 1950s and 1960s, building National 12s, Merlin Rockets, Cadets, Flying 15s, Fireballs and Folkboats, all to meticulously high standards. Later, Jack established Chippendale Craft in Norfolk, making stitch-and-tape boat kits and running short boatbuilding courses.
